Flyball is a team relay sport in which you have four doggies and their handler plus a box loader per team.  The running area is 51 feet long one way, for a total of 102 feet.  Now there are four doggies per team.  The first dog is released just before the light changes green (timing is everything) and if the dog goes over the start/finish line before the green light,(it goes, amber, amber, green) this is classified as a fault against his team and has one more chance to re-run at the end and if it happens again the race keeps going and the idea is to jump over the four hurdles (first hurdle is 6' from the start/finish line and the last hurdle is 15' from the box) (THERE ARE 10' BETWEEN EACH HURDLE)and get the tennis ball from the FLYBALL BOX and bring it back to their handler and then the next dog is released just before the dog before him returns over the start/finish line but he cannot cross over the start/finish line before the dog returning does (perfect would be they both pass each other at the start/finish line).......or that also is a fault.  Now the team who completes the runs in the fastest time and no or the lesser errors wins that heap.   It's the best three out of five heaps per race...
This is Pa and me (Aspen) getting ready to run and Stacey and her doggie behind.  Now there are 4 dogs per team and the reason you don't see the other two dogs is because they are starting back further....Now I managed to get one of these pics clearer.  These were taken off the video camera and I had been waiting so long for this.  Were jest gettin' ready to race
I am the lead dog for this team
